Walking away from the crowds
Stress-free route choice and navigation
NWF guided walking holidays are for small groups (max eight on our Scottish trips and no more than ten on the Faroes holidays) made up of likeminded people. The aim is to explore and discover the best wild and fantastic scenery, history and culture of the Scottish Highlands and the Faroe Islands.
Having an experienced NWF guide will ensure you have access to knowledge about history, local folklore and flora and fauna of the area you are walking in. A qualified guide takes the pressure off the route choice and offers alternative options dependent upon the weather and group ability. This allows you to explore in a more leisurely way and take in the beauty of the stunning scenery.
We provide transport from the holiday starting points and return you there at the end of your trip. The cost of your accommodation is included in the price; we have chosen our guesthouses or small hotels because of their excellent service and fabulous location. On some holidays, we have included your dinners, particularly when hiking in the more remote areas. On other holidays, we chose not to include dinners because there is a wider restaurant choice for group members to decide for themselves.
Our single-centre trips offer you the chance to get to know an area. An example is our Orkney Discovery Delux, where we stay six nights in the lovely Lynnfield hotel.
You explore a larger area on our multi-centre adventures, and you will stay in 2 or 3 different accommodations. Our Hills of the Outer Hebrides is a classic example; you travel from Lewis down the chain of islands to South Uist. The walks take place in the areas visited.
